Candidate statement
Supplied by the candidate · not verifiedThis was the statement from my original platform, and I believe that this is true today: “I have lived most of my life in Cherry Creek and my family members continue to live in Cherry Creek. I have a deep connection to the area and the people. Throughout my time in Cherry Creek, I have interacted with most of the residents in the community. I know their independent spirit and community involvement because it still lives within me and it’s the driving force behind my desire to serve the residents.” As your elected representative for the past term, I have listened to the people and pushed forward the vision given to me, which has resulted in the following: • Improving safety of the Maebelle Road intersection, resulting in bank removal for better visibility. • Planning Cherry Creek Community Hall referendum, which will allow the community hall to accumulate money for their bigger projects. • Maintaining the second lowest taxes of the Electoral areas within the ACRD. • Increasing operational services for Custom transit to seven days a week. • Advocating for rebuilding the foot bridge across Cold Creek. This is important to the area and is not part of the LTT lease and has no dedicated budget. • In the process of replacing the bridges in Maplehurst Park at no cost to Cherry Creek taxpayers. • Keeping the portion of the LTT within Cherry Creek non-motorized for the comfort and benefit of those that want to enjoy the trail on foot or horseback. • On committees for AVRA, emergency route out of town, MFA, Tsawak-qin forestry, and other boards. • Volunteered within the community over the years. As I continue to listen to your hopes and concerns within the community, I know that there is always more that can be done to improve the lives of the residents. Advocating for the community and achieving the collective vision takes time, patience, and dedication. As your elected representative, I will continue to work toward your goals with diplomacy and perseverance for all residents who are fortunate enough to call Cherry Creek home.
