AV Elections is an independent, non-partisan resource created for informational purposes only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any candidate, elector organization, political party, government, or electoral body, including the City of Port Alberni, the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District, School District 70, or Elections BC.

2. No endorsement

Listing a candidate, publishing a candidate's statement, or listing an event does not constitute an endorsement of any candidate, issue or political position. All candidates in a race are presented with the same fields, in the same format, in alphabetical order by surname.

3. Accuracy of information

Content is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make reasonable efforts to verify information against official sources and to date each verification, but we make no warranty of accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Official information from the chief election officer of each jurisdiction governs. Please verify voting places, dates and candidate details with the municipal or regional district election office before relying on them.

4. Candidate-supplied content

Candidate statements, photographs and links are supplied by the candidates themselves, published as submitted, and clearly labelled. We do not verify their contents and are not responsible for them. A candidate may request a change to, or removal of, their own statement, photo or links through the corrections process.

5. Third-party links

Links to candidates' websites, social media or other external sites are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices or availability of those sites.

6. Events and forums

Events listed on this site, including any candidate forums, are listed for civic engagement purposes. We do not control the content, conduct or statements made by candidates or participants at any event.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators of this site are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, any information, link or event listed on this site.

8. Corrections

If you believe something on this site is wrong, use the Request a correction page. We aim to correct verified errors within 24 hours and keep a public log of corrections.

9. No legal or political advice

Nothing on this site is legal or political advice. For questions about your eligibility to vote or run, contact the chief election officer of your jurisdiction or Elections BC.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
