Privacy Policy

What we collect
Visitors: our servers keep standard access logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) for security and troubleshooting. Logs are retained for no more than 30 days. We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics cookies, or social media pixels.
Candidates: we publish information that is public by virtue of a person's candidacy — name, the office sought, and verified public facts about prior office held — together with any statement, photo or links the candidate supplies. If a candidate gives us a contact email for correspondence, it is stored privately, never published, and used only to communicate about their profile.
Site administrators: editors log in with an email address and password. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Every edit is recorded in an audit log with the editor's identity.
Why
To publish accurate, non-partisan election information; to keep the site secure; and to correct errors when asked.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone. Data is stored on servers we control in Canada unless otherwise stated on the About page.
Your rights
Under BC's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask what personal information we hold about you and request corrections. Candidates may request removal of a candidate-supplied photo or statement at any time. Contact us through the Request a correction page.
Cookies
The public site sets no cookies. The administration area sets one session cookie for logged-in editors only.
