Nominations close — candidates declared at 4:15 pm

The nomination period for the 2026 general local elections closes at 4 pm. The City of Port Alberni and the ACRD then declare the official candidates for Mayor, Council, ACRD Electoral Area Directors and SD70 trustees at 4:15 pm. Candidates can still withdraw until Sept 18; any race with only one nominee is declared by acclamation on Sept 21.
